Lillian E. Nehrbass, (nee Smith), age 88, of West Bend, passed away Thursday December 29, 2005 at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born on August 26, 1917 in Barton to the late George and Katherine (nee Watts) Smith, and was the last of 10 children to survive. Lillian was united in marriage to Melvin Nehrbass on May 15, 1937 in West Bend.
In the early fifties and sixties Lillian and Melvin owned and operated the West Bend City Cab. She then worked for the former West Bend Co. until retiring in 1985. Melvin preceded her in death in 1994.
Lillian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of the Trinity Dorcas Society. She enjoyed her family and loved to garden, and bake. Lillian was especially known for her delicious schaum tortes.
She is survived by five children, Roger (Donna) Nehrbass of Port Washington, Lorence Nehrbass of West Bend, Patricia (Neal) Gremminger of Grapevine, TX, Robert Nehrbass of West Bend, and Susan (Rory) Gorman of Rogers, AR; eight grandchildren, Christopher Nehrbass, Patrick (Michelle) Nehrbass, Jennifer (Orrin) Myers, Tricia (Art) Buechler, Krista (fiancAC. Jason Staral) Nehrbass, Sherry (Kevin) Childress, Mark (fiancAC.e Julie) Gremminger, and Justin Montello; four great-grandchildren, Madison & Delaney Nehrbass, Calla & Brooke Buechler, and Taylor Childress; a sister-in-law Delores "Dolly" Nehrbass of West Bend; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Deborah Nehrbass, six sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services to remember Lillian will be held on Tuesday January 3rd at 7:00 pm at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. David Schoob will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 am in Washington County Memorial Park. Memorials to Trinity Church or Lutheran Social Services would be appreciated by the family.
