Lillian M. Pfeiffer, nee Bumiller, age 105A½, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Cedar Bay West at Cedar Community.
She was born on March 18, 1908 in the town of Trenton to the late Henry and Caroline (nee Klein) Bumiller. Lillian was united in marriage to Rudolph "Rudy" Pfeiffer on July 18, 1931 at the German Walnut Street Methodist Church in West Bend. The couple resided in what was then Barton and Lillian helped Rudy operate his many different businesses. Lillian and Rudy were married for 77 years when Rudy passed away on June 1, 2008 at the age of 103.
Lillian had been living at Cedar Bay West Assisted Living at Cedar Community for many years and she enjoyed all the activities there. She also enjoyed knitting many dishcloths. She was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Allen) Hron of the town of Kewaskum; three grandchildren, Dr. Kim (Dr. James) Stewart of Chesterfield, MO, Deborah (Steven) Wolfe of Germantown, and Steven (Stephanie) Hron of Larkspur, CO; five great-grandchildren, Adam Wolfe, Madelyn Wolfe, Matthew Stewart, Caroline Stewart, and Emma Stewart; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudy; a daughter, Carol Krueger; five sisters, Selma Bumiller, Selma's twin who died at birth, Ida Bumiller, Ella Bumiller, and Frances (Fran) Rudersdorf; two brothers, Alvin (Linda) Bumiller and Oscar (Bernice) Bumiller; three brother-in-law, Arthur (Evelyn) Pfeiffer; and two sisters-in-law, Loretta (Harold) Hughes and Marie (Raymond) Yahr; a niece, Susan Otten; and three nephews, Howard Hughes, Alvin Bumiller, Jr., and Carl Yahr.
Funeral services in remembrance of Lillian will be held on Monday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 S. 5th Ave., West Bend. Rev. Jeremy Deaner will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
