Lillian V. Utech

Lillian V. “Lil” Utech, 92, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the Waterford of West Bend.

Lillian was born on November 2, 1926, in Beechwood, the daughter of the late Alvin and Alma (Nee Schiltz) Backhaus. On June 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to August Utech at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Beechwood. Lillian and August enjoyed dancing together and going on vacations. She loved cooking, gardening, and was always willing to help out her church whenever needed. Above all else she loved her family.

Those Lillian leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 71 years, August; a daughter, Linda (Terry) Schaub; two grandchildren, Jennifer Schaub (Kevin) of Sparta and Nathan (Jeni) Schaub of West Bend; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Bath, Gage Bath, and Mathew Schaub Jr.; a granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Schaub; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by three sons; a grandson, Mathew Schaub; a sister, Doris (Walter) Ebert.

A Celebration of Life for Lillian will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend.

Lillian’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
