Linda Kroncke

April 10, 1915 — April 14, 2007

Linda R. Kroncke, 92, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Oak Park Place in Madison.


She was born on April 10, 1915 in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Newton and Linda (Holley) Rosenheimer. Linda was a graduate of Kewaskum High School in 1933. She then attended the Milwaukee Downer College and received her law degree from the the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She was the first practicing woman attorney in Washington Co.and was with the Cannon and Meister Law Office in West Bend.

On June 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to Robert G. Kroncke at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Her husband preceded her in death on April 29, 1989.


Linda and her husband owned and operated the Kewaskum Malt and Grain Co. They founded the Exodus House in Kewaskum and the Carol Linda House in West Bend was important part of their charity work.

Linda was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum where she was a member of the Choir and loved to sing.


Survivors include three children: Robert N. Kroncke of Milwaukee, Mary (Donald) Sundstrom of Deerfield and Kathleen (Gregory) Allord of Madison; nine grandchildren: Katharine, David, Aaron, Stephen, Anne, Jacob, Becky, Matthew, and Joanna; three great-grandchildren, Cameren, Branden, and Jaxen, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, Linda was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Glennis Kroncke, and a sister, Patricia.


Funeral services for Linda were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Peace United Church of Christ 343 First St. in Kewaskum. Rev. William Wiederanders officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends called on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Friends of Abuse Families or the Exodus House are appreciated.
