Linda L. Young (nee Doers), age 50, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2013 following an automobile accident.
Linda was born on August 10, 1963 in Port Washington to Victor and Carolyn "Pat" (nee Preisler) Doers. Following her graduation in 1981 from Port Washington High School, Linda enlisted in the United States Army where she served as a supply clerk. On June 1, 1983 Linda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Marvin Young, at Ft. Carson, Colorado. Following her service in the military, Linda and Marvin moved back to West Bend and Linda began working for the West Bend Company as a press operator. Her passion for helping those in need eventually led her to change careers and become a CNA. Throughout her career she worked for various nursing homes including the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, Lasata, Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the Samaritan Health Care Center.
Linda was an avid geocacher, "lindafawn", and model train hobbyist. She loved cross stitching and spending time at her cabin up north. She was a hard worker and was always on the go. Linda was a proud mother and grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandson play hockey. She was also a very loving sister and friend who always lived by her own rules and had a joy and a zest for life that was unstoppable.
Linda is survived by her husband, Marvin of West Bend; her three children, Nathan (Rachel) Young of West Bend, Joseph (Nicole) Young of Janesville, and Lisa (Chris) Wanke of Slinger; two grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia Young of Janesville; her father, Victor (Susan) Doers of West Bend; four sisters, Sharon Carpenter of West Bend, Vicki (Alex) MontaA
