Lloyd E. Etta

Lloyd E. Etta, 85, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.


He was born on March 28, 1926, in Kewaskum, the son of the late John and Golda (Backhaus) Etta, and on August 27, 1949, he was united in marriage to Rita Waranius at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cascade.


Lloyd was a lifelong farmer in the town of Kewaskum and a construction worker for 25 years. Some of the local area building projects Lloyd worked on were Holy Trinity Catholic School, the Kewaskum Library, the Kewaskum Theater and Hartford Memorial Hospital.


He was a member of the Kewaskum Lions Club, Kewaskum Sportsmen’s Club, the National Wild Turkey Federation and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Lloyd will fondly be remembered as one who enjoyed hunting and fishing.


Those Lloyd leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Rita; seven children, Jane (John) Guzzonato of Coal Valley, Illinois, Robert Etta of Kewaskum, Anne (William) Dreier of West Bend, Terry (Connie) Etta of Kewaskum, Laurie (Ted) Agnello of Washougal, Washington, Holli (Matthew) Gruss of Kewaskum and Michelle Etta of Madison; 13 grandchildren, Melissa and Diana Guzzonato, David Cibulka, Roxanne, Jessica and Shania Etta, Amy Petsch, Adam, Aaron and Griffen Agnello, Keegan, Braeden and Kaedan Gruss; three sisters-in-law, Joann Schneider of Phoenix, Arizona, Marcella Fellenz of Spokane, Washington and Rosalie (Kenneth) Vass of Batavia, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Anthony (Pat) Waranius of Clearwater, Florida, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by a brother, Earl (Dorothy) Etta and two brothers-in-law, Burno Fellenz and Joseph Schneider.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Lloyd was held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan.


Relatives and friends called on Tuesday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.


Memorials to Holy Trinity Catholic School are appreciated.


The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Lloyd’s arrangements.


Lloyd’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Samaritan Health Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and to Dr. Preisler and Dr. Sammis for the care provided to Lloyd.
