Lloyd A. Luedtke, age 84, of Winchester, formerly of West Bend, passed away Saturday November 5, 2011 at Westgate Nursing Home in Ironwood, MI.
He was born on the family homestead farm in the Town of Herman, Dodge County, to the late Raymond and Regina (nee Henning) Luedtke. Lloyd worked on the family dairy farm and later owned and operated Luedtke Manufacturing in Allenton. He was united in marriage to Beatrice (Wagner) Justmann and together they had seven children.
On February 14, 1973, he was united in marriage to Susan Gault at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Together they had one daughter. Upon retiring, Lloyd became a tractor puller and sled operator for Luedtke's Eliminator Tractor Pulling. He attended pulling contests all over the country and in Canada. "And that was yesterday." In 1997, he and his wife, moved to their home up north in Winchester.
Lloyd was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend and the National Tractor Pulling Association Hall of Fame. Lloyd was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; eight children, Mary Lee (Eugene) Schellinger, Bonnie (George) Wiedmeyer, Linda (Ralph) Novotny, James (Debbie) Luedtke, Debbie (Randy) DeCaluwe, Diane (Roger) Becker, Krissy (Randy) Breber, and Laurie (Lee) Hutchins; three step-children, Mark (LeAnn) Mueller, Mary (Danny Dean) Mueller, and Janie (Dave) Shultz; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sisters, LaVern Krahn, Inez Pilsner, and Verona (Tom) Hartwig; a brother, Floyd (Gloria) Luedtke; a sister-in-law, Christine (Dennis) Waldera; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Christopher Kuehl; and a brother, Harvey Luedtke.
Funeral services in remembrance of Lloyd will be held on Friday November 11th at 11:00 am at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend with Rev. Guy Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Thursday at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place on Friday at 2:00 pm in Theresa Union Cemetery.
