Lois June Brummond, 81, Mayville, went to her eternal rest to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 22, 2014, surrounded by family.
She was born on June 16, 1933 in the Town of Eldorado, the daughter of George and Ruth (Woller) Hinz. Lois married Vernon Brummond on May 2, 1959 at St. John's Church in the Town of Nekimi.
Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mayville where she previously served on the Altar Guild. Lois was also a member of the Mayville Senior Center. During the time her husband Vernon was involved in the Kekoskee Fire Department, Lois was active in the Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed working with community organizations such as 4-H and American Field Service as well.
Well-known for her delicious tortes and deserts, Lois was a great cook and homemaker. She loved playing cards, attending plays, watching the Brewers, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also loved children and greatly enjoyed her work at St. John's Lutheran Church Daycare Center. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father. She is survived by her daughter Sheri and her husband Roy Williams III of Los Angeles, daughter Vicki of Seattle, son Dennis of Forest Park, IL, sister Beverly (Donald) Bechler of Van Dyne, brother Leo (Jean) Hinz of Sheboygan, and sister Bonnie (Jan) Schumacher of Van Dyne.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home in Mayville. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 28th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mayville at 2:00 pm with a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The Rev. Sean Willman will officiate. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church (Debt Fund).
Lois was a loving, generous, God-fearing soul and a true blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, loved ones, and the community.
Sheri, Vicki and Dennis, Lois' children, would like to express their special appreciation and thanks to all the wonderful people who, in recent years, have gone out of their way to help their mother as she confronted various medical challenges.
