Lolene M. "Elly" Emerson-McCormick, age 51, of Saukville, found peace after a long battle with cancer on Sunday March 22, 2015 at Kathy Hospice in the Town of Polk.
She was born on March 26, 1963 in Dighton, KS to Fred and Peggy (nee Garton) Muffitt. In 1985 Elly moved to West Bend and worked at the former F.W. Busch Company in Grafton. In 1995 Elly and her brother Fred started Elly's Riverview Tap in Newburg.
Elly was an accomplished artist and specialize in wood carving.
She is survived by her son, Justin Emerson of Wausau; two grandsons, Seth Lee Emerson, and Kain Joseph Emerson; Parents, Fred (Peggy) Muffitt of Dighton, KS; sister, Mattie (Kevin) Duckworth of Liberal, KS; brother, Fred Muffitt of Saukville; two nieces, Dennille Borell of Ransom, KS, and Sheridan Schaben of Ness City, KS; two great-nephews, Drake Woods, and Hudson Woods, along with their father, Shawn Woods; brother-in-law, Kenny Schaben of Hays, KS; Husband, Mike McCormick of Phillips; mother-in-law, Cindy McCormick of Phillips; step-daughter, Amanda (Troy) Madalon of Jump River; two step-sons, Brandon McCormick, and Matthew McCormick, both of Phillips; brother-in-law, Kato McCormick of Phillips; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Emerson in 1993; a sister, Linda Schaben.
A memorial Mass in remembrance of Elly will be held on Thursday March 26th at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (521 Congress St.) Newburg. Rev. Kevin Kowalske will officiate. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of Mass.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Columbia St. Mary's-Ozaukee, and Kathy Hospice for the loving care of Elly during her illness.
