Lorraine H. Moore, (nee Strack), age 891/2, of Kohlsville, passed away Wednesday December 26, 2007, at Allis Care Center in West Allis.
She was born on April 12, 1918 on the family homestead farm in the Town of Scott, Sheboygan County, to the late Charles and Ethelda (nee Janke) Strack. She was baptized on May 5, 1918 at St. Stephan's Lutheran Church in Batavia, where she was also confirmed on March 20, 1932.
Loraine moved to Milwaukee in 1940 and worked in a defense plant at Milwaukee Stamping Co. in West Allis. On June 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Arthur F. "Red" Moore at St. Stephan's Lutheran Church in Batavia. They resided in Milwaukee and attended Bethany Lutheran Church where Loraine was active in bible classes, doing Kingdom work, and active with the PTA. In 1968 she was hired at Koss Corporation in Milwaukee, and worked there until 1978. Loraine and "Red" moved to Kohlsville in 1977 and became members of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in 1979. Loraine was active in the Ladies Aid, and bible classes at Zion Church.
Loraine is survived by three children, Arthur L. (Debra) Moore, Gary F. Moore, and Lois K. Pocian; seven grandchildren, Mac (Lisa) Moore, Casey Moore, Jessica Moore, Crystal (Jason) Survis, Joshua Moore, Tonya Pocian, and Mitchell Moore; five great-grandchildren, Leah, Jordan, Hailey, Matthew, and Emma; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1995; two brothers, Elton Strack, and Wilfred Strack.
Funeral services in remembrance of Loraine will be held on Monday December 31st at 11:30 am at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (6438 HWY. D), Allenton. Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin. Memorials given in Loraine's name to Zion Church are appreciated.
