Lorna B. Sievert

January 1, 1914 — August 21, 2014

Lorna B. Sievert, (nee Albrecht), age 100, entered this life on January 1, 1914, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She entered eternal life on August 21, 2014 at Harvest House in West Bend, Wisconsin.

After graduating from nursing school, Lorna was united in marriage to Rick Sievert in Fairfax, MN. They lived in Flint, MI until moving to Fort Atkinson, WI in 1948. Rick served in the teaching ministry for a combined 53 years. In Lorna's 18 years as a nursery nurse at the Fort Atkinson hospital, she cared for hundreds of babies and their mothers. Artwork hanging in Lorna's home, given by her children, aptly described her and how she affected others: "arms full of children - heart full of love." Retirement brought them to West Bend in 1985 to be closer to family. Rick preceded her in death in 1992.

Lorna baked over a million cookies in her life time and was known for her delicious sugar crisp rolls, the last batch being consumed at the family lake vacation in 2013. She will be dearly missed by all of us. She is survived by five children, Judith Weigand, Janet (Jim) Fenske, Karen (Tom) Miller, Dan (Pam) Sievert, and James (Marilyn) Sievert; Lorna was blessed with 21 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Immanuel and Frieda Albrecht; husband, Rick; a sister, Norma Bradtke; a brother, Friedebert Albrecht; and a son-in-law, Cleone Weigand.

Funeral services in remembrance of Lorna will be held on Friday August 29th at 3:00 pm at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church (777 Indiana Ave.) West Bend. Rev. Robert Hein & Rev. Richard Lauersdorf will co-officiate. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial, officiated by Rev. John Paustian, will be on Saturday at 11:00 am in Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown, WI.

Memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & School, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Tuition Assistance, or Martin Luther College Scholarship Fund are appreciated by the family.
