Louie M. Hendrickson

April 26, 1915 — May 4, 2015

Louie M. Hendrickson, age 100, entered into heaven by grace, through faith in his savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 4th, 2015 at home with loved ones by his side.

Louie was born on a homestead in northern Minnesota April 26, 1915 to Andrew and Ella Hendrickson. He was the youngest of 7 children, and attended a one room schoolhouse in Quiring Township. Louie married his wife Edna on June 17, 1944. They farmed in Quiring Township until 1953, when they moved their family to International Falls MN. There, Louie worked at the Boise Cascade Paper Mill as an oiler for 24 years. In 1977 he retired, and they returned to the homestead. He spent the last years of his life with his daughter and son-in-law in Wisconsin.

Louie loved life, his family, and the Lord. He saw the humor in ordinary events, and always had a story to tell. He cherished the love of his wife, children, grandchildren, and was a dedicated provider. He recognized that he was a sinner, in need of a savior, and he took Jesus at his word when He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). Louie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and followed in believer's baptism. It was his fervent desire that all of his family would come to know the savior as he did.

He leaves behind his five children, Glenn (Cindy) Hendrickson of International Falls MN, Shirley (Jim) McCarty of Proctor MN, Jeanette (Dick) Weber of Side Lake MN, Curtis (Annie) Hendrickson of Bemidji MN, Shelly (Jeff) Yoder of West Bend WI; 31 grandchildren, including great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Louie was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 59 years, Edna; his parents; brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Louie's life will be on Saturday, May 9th, 2015, at Faith Baptist Church, 2531 Roosevelt Rd SE, Bemidji MN, with Reverend Derek Claypool officiating. Refreshments will be served during the Visitation; beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of Service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Quiring Township Cemetery, immediately following the service.

A special thank you to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Wisconsin for all their help and care.
