Louise M. Dhein, nee Techtmann, 86, of West Bend, was born to eternal life on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at her residence at Cedar Ridge in West Bend.
She was born on July 22, 1919 in the town of Barton to the late William and Esther (nee Landvatter) Techtmann. After high school she attended the Dodge County Normal Teachers College and was a one-room school teacher in the West Bend area for several years.
On June 27, 1942 she was united in marriage to Harvey J. Dhein in Kewaskum. Harvey passed away on June 22, 2004. After Harvey's death, Louise became involved in many activities at Cedar Ridge. Her friends and the community at Cedar Ridge became a very important part of her life.
Louise was very devoted to her family, church, and community and she had a deep concern for others. She was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend. She did volunteer work for many organization including the Full Shelf Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, Neighborhood Crime Watch, Cedar Lake Health Care Center Auxiliary and Yea Old School at the Cedar Community. She was also a member the Retired Teacher's Association. Louise will be remembered as always being positive, friendly, caring, and loving.
She was a proud mother, grandmother and aunt and is survived by three children, Wayne Dhein of West Bend, Lynn (Diane) Dhein of Columbus, and Judy (Ed) Krepsky of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Kim Schmitt of Saukville, Eric Dhein of West Bend, Lara (Shawn) Baumler of Beaver Dam, Angie (Dan) Kablar of Janesville, Mitchell Dhein of Wisconsin Dells, Ryan Krepsky of West Bend, and Jamie (Eric) Waldron of Houston, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Amber Dhein, Lisbeth Schmitt, Amanda Schmitt, Brittany Baumler, Brianna Baumler, Natalie Krepsky, Parker Krepsky, and Aleksandar Kablar; a sister, Evelyn (Merril) Krueger of West Bend; two brothers, Harvey (Betty) Techtman of West Bend, and William Techtmann of Waukesha; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Techtmann.
A memorial service to celebrate Louise's life will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 501 Walnut Street, West Bend, with Rev. George Schowalter and Rev. Amanda Blank officiating. Louise's cremated remains will be buried in Christ Church Cemetery in Dheinsville (Germantown) at a later date.
