Lucia Grams, nee Gehrke, 87, formerly of Mayville, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014at Hillside Manor Nursing Home in Beaver Dam.
She was born on March 13, 1926 in Mayville to the late Adolph and Alma (nee Kanzenbach) Gehrke. Lucia married Rev. William Grams on May 31, 1969 at Mayville Assembly of God. William passed away on August 4, 1982.
Lucia graduated from Mayville High School in 1944 and then went on to attend Dodge County Teachers College, Oshkosh State University and Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. Lucia taught at Shady Grove and Golden Glow Country Schools, Theresa Village School and Mayville Limestone Elementary School. She was privileged to spend a summer at Freedom Foundation, Valley Forge, PA because of an American Legion Scholarship. Lucia also managed the Mayville Meal Site for 13 years (1982-1995).
She is survived by two step-sons, Eugene (Phyllis) Grams and Duane Grams; two step-daughters, Deloris (Rev. Roy) McKain and Gloria Jean (Clayton) Law; 11 step-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Victor (Josephine) Gehrke and Howard (Roselle) Gehrke.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 15 S. Walnut St., Mayville. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Mayville.
