Lucille F. Suckow, nee Johnson, 88, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Harbor House in Sheboygan.
She was born June 15, 1920 on the family homestead farm in Campbellsport to the late Henry and Olga (nee Bothke) Johnson. Lucille graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1938. From 1938 to 1949 she worked at the West Bend Company where she met her future husband.
On October 9, 1948 she was united in marriage to Milton A. Suckow at First Baptist Church in Campbellsport. Together they lived on the Johnson family homestead in Campbellsport and Lucille became the fourth generation of the family to operate the farm. In 1962 they moved to West Bend. Milton passed away on April 11, 1996.
Lucille was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, and the St. John's Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, animals and the outdoors. She also enjoyed her Bridge club and Bible study group. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter.
She is survived by two children, Mark Suckow of West Bend, Barbara (Rick) Van der Vaart of Sheboygan; a granddaughter, Sarah; cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Johnson and Mildred Hendricks.
Funeral services in remembrance of Lucille will be held on Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend. Rev. George Mumm and Rev. Cal Seban will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
