Lucille R. Brinkman, 96, of Brownsville, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born on August 13, 1918, in the town of Byron, the daughter of the late Herman and Louise (Bloohm) Westphal, and on January 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Alvin Brinkman in Brownsville. Alvin preceded Lucille in death on September 15, 1987.
Lucille attended Byron grade school where she walked to school every day and had perfect attendance. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking and was a former cook at Club 49 in Lomira. Lucille loved playing cards, especially sheepshead. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville.
Those Lucille leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Lynn Brinkman of Hartford, Karen (Gary) Hendricks of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Sandra (Ed) Krentz of Madison and Randy L. Brinkman of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Larry (Janelle) Brinkman of Wauwatosa, Tracy (Ben) Glynn of St. John, Florida, Bryan Mangan of Hartford, Kyle Brinkman and Diane (Mark) Fremgen both of Madison and Debra (Kevin) McCormick of Pewaukee; 8 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by two children, Larry Alvin Brinkman and Jean Mangan.
Funeral services for Lucille will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville. Rev. William Carter will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Lucille’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.
