Luke Koch

August 20, 1952 — April 27, 2011

Luke W. Koch, age 58, of West Bend, passed away at home the morning of April 27, 2011 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by his devoted and loving family.

Luke was born August 20, 1952 in West Bend, WI to Paul and Lucille F. (nee Johnson) Koch. He graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1970. On May 10, 1980, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary H. Johnson, at Trinity Lutheran church in West Bend.

From 1973 until the time of his death he was employed by We Energies, serving many different roles in multiple divisions within the company. He began his career as a Line Mechanic, and later held positions in Construction, I.T., Customer Support, and Customer Service. His final position with the company was as Director of Technology Support for Customer Service & Customer Operations.

Luke was an avid waterfowl hunter, outdoorsman, and fisherman. He loved traveling and hunting with his family and friends, and was involved with NORDAK Outdoors, Delta Waterfowl, Feather Duster Calls, Barton Sportsmen, Ducks Unlimited, Lake Michigan Great Sport Fishermen, and Cornerstone Church in Grafton.

Since 2008, Luke has battled cancer (sarcoma) and associated health complications. He & his family are thankful for the wonderful care he received from Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin throughout his many surgeries and treatments.

Luke is survived by his loving wife Mary of West Bend; two children, Karla M. Koch of Avon, CO and Matthew P. Koch of Centennial, CO; his mother, Lucille Koch of West Bend; a sister, Paula F. (Koch) Canby of West Bend, many other relatives and friends.

Luke was preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Koch in 1981.

Funeral services in remembrance of Luke will be held on Monday May 2nd at 1:30 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St. West Bend, WI. Pastor Joe Stillone of Cornerstone Church in Grafton will officiate. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday May 1st from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and on Monday May 2nd from 11:30 am until the time of service.

People attending the funeral events are invited to wear camouflage and at the cemetery are invited to bring their duck or goose calls for a "last call" to honor Luke.
