Luthera "Lou" Wagner

Luthera "Lou" Wagner, (nee Harris), age 90, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

She was born on July 23, 1917 in Montrose, S.D. to the late Claire and Lizetta (nee Rosser) Harris. Following her high school graduation, Lou was employed as a waitress. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Wagner in Milwaukee on May 20, 1939. Sylvester preceded her in death on September 1, 1979.

Lou and Sylvester moved to Meadowbrook Manor in West Bend in 1978 and became active members in the community. Lou became a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary for the Fred A. Schaefer Post #1393. She was also a former member and past president of Hotel Greeters of America. Lou had a passion for people and enjoyed volunteering as a meal server at the Washington County Senior Center.

Lou enjoyed a full and happy life and loved spending time with her family. She most recently enjoyed celebrating her 90th birthday with her family at a poolside party given by her grandson Rick (Cindy).

Lou is survived by her best friend and loving daughter, Diane (Dick) Schneider of Boltonville; three grandchildren, Rick (Cindy) Schneider of Campbellsport, Jeff (Sue) Schneider of Kewaskum, and Jennifer (Bill) Wiesmueller of Saukville; and five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Nichole, and Stefanie Schneider of Kewaskum, and Jessica and Jacob Wiesmueller of Saukville. She is further survived by a sister, June Anderson of Milwaukee; three sisters-in-law, Gen (Eugene) Draxler of Jackson, Rosella Blum of West Bend, and Elizabeth (James) Miller of West Bend; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Darlene Wagner; a brother-in-law, Ray Blum; and a nephew, Michael Draxler.

A funeral service in celebration of Lou's life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, at 2:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Pastor Phillip Skramstad will officiate. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
