Mae G. Koch

Mae G. Koch, 61, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa.


She was born on September 13, 1947, in West Bend, the daughter of Sylvester “Rusty” and Doris (Stern) Schladweiler, and on May 17, 1969, she was united in marriage to Terry Koch at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.


Mae was employed by the Kewaskum School District for nearly ten years and worked at the Kewaskum Middle School in Food Service. During her years of employment, Mae also worked for the Amity Company and the West Bend Company in West Bend, at Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum for many years and at the Glacier Inn in Kewaskum.

She enjoyed shopping for her granddaughter, who was her pride and joy, and spent time caring for her mother. Mae was a source of information. She always knew what was going on and kept everyone up-to-date on happenings. Mae will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.


Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Terry; three children, Jessica Koch of Milwaukee, Noah Koch of Scottsdale, Arizona and Nicole (Brian) Bobb of North Fond du Lac; her granddaughter, Savannah Bobb; her mother, Doris Schladweiler of Campbellsport; six sisters, Ann (Tom) Gundrum of Delmont, South Dakota, Jeanne (Mark) Slaugenhoup of Kewaskum, Betty (Dennis) Garczynski of Cudahy, Cheryl (Allan) Schafer of Fond du Lac, Donna (Quin) Mueller of Theresa and Lorie (Todd) Bardouche of Green Bay; good friends and neighbors, Scott and Judy Boedeker, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.


Mae was preceded in death by her father.


Funeral services for Mae were held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the church cemetery.


Relatives and friends called on Sunday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
