Margaret L. Becker, 92, of Kewaskum, joined the love of her life, LeRoy, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2011.
She was born on September 4, 1918, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Frank and Hilda (Weddig) Gonnering, and on May 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to LeRoy H. Becker in West Bend. The couple farmed in the town of Barton and the town of Kewaskum. LeRoy preceded Margaret in death on July 26, 2010.
During her working years, Margaret was also employed by Amity Leather Products Company in West Bend. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.
Those Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Kenneth (Ann) Becker of Clintonville, Karen (Gerry) Lauters of Stevens Point and Jeanne Becker of Kewaskum; a daughter-in-law, Harriet Becker of West Bend; a brother, Ervin (Viola “Andy”) Gonnering of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Carl Bohn of Madison; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a son, James E. Becker; an infant granddaughter, Jaime Ann Becker; an infant grandson, Korey Becker and a sister, Doris Bohn.
Funeral services for Margaret were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard and Rev. William Wiederanders officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called on Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
