Margaret A. Duernberger (Nee Thelen), age 93, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
She was born on August 16, 1915 in West Bend to the late Clemens and Augusta (Nee Koester) Thelen, and graduated from West Bend High School, class of 1932. Margaret was united in marriage to Wilbur Juech at Holy Angels in West Bend on March 2, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1954. She then was united in marriage to Carl Duernberger on August 24, 1957 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend.
Margaret enjoyed bridge and loved playing in several card clubs. She sang in the choir at Immanuel U.C.C. in West Bend. She spent time working on puzzles and crossword puzzles. Margaret also enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was an avid Brewer fan. Margaret was a wonderful mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to be with her family.
She is survived by two children, James Duernberger of West Bend, and Beth (Gary) Wachs of West Bend; five grandsons, Adam (Kate) Wachs of West Bend, Jeremy (Sarah) Wachs of Robbinsdale, MN, Dick (Sharon) Rehm of Tampa, FL, Brian (Lynn) Rehm of Port Richey, FL, and Bruce (Michelle) Rehm of New Port Richey, FL; 11 great-grandchildren, Christian Wachs & Amelia Wachs, Sara, Noel, & Angel Rehm, Stephanie Allison and Emma & Keaton Rehm, Tyler, Logan & Zachary Rehm; three great-great-grandchildren, Courtney, Richard Jr. & Cheyenne Morrison; other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Carl; a daughter Mary Mayes; a great-grandson, Matthew Rehm; and brother, William Thelen.
A memorial service in remembrance of Margaret will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 10:30 am at the Cedar Theater - 5595 Hwy Z in West Bend. Margaret's grandson, Brian Rehm and Chaplain David Stone will officiate. A reception with the family will follow the memorial service.
Cremation took place at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service and inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park. Memorials to the full shelf food pantry are appreciated.
The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to Dr. Gill and the staff at Cedar Bay East and Kathy Hospice for their care of Margaret.
