Margaret R. Shulfer, 85, of Theresa, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on December 12, 1928, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the later Michael and Angeline (Brzezinski) Gersch, and on October 7, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Shulfer. Donald preceded Margaret in death on May 28, 1991.
Margaret was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa. She was also a former member of St. Ann's Sodality. Margaret will fondly be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Those Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory include six children, William D. (Tina) Shulfer of Minocqua, Kenneth L. (Brenda) Shulfer of Mayville, Mark A. Shulfer of Theresa, James D. (Juanita) Shulfer of Oakfield, Patricia (Merlin) Priest of Lomira and Jeanne (Steven) Zamzow of Eyota, Minnesota; a sister, Virginia Suchorski of West Allis; a sister-in-law, Pat Gersch of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by an infant son, John; a brother, Michael Gersch; a sister, Evelyn (Tony) Niedzwiecki and a brother-in-law, Joseph Suchorski.
A Memorial Mass for Margaret was held at noon on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa. Father Tom Biersack officiated and burial of her cremains followed Mass in St. Theresa Memorial Gardens in Theresa.
The Shulfer family greeted relatives and friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Memorials to St. Theresa Catholic Church are appreciated.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Margaret's arrangements.
