Marguerite D. "Mickey" Gundrum

September 23, 1920 — October 15, 2013

Marguerite D. "Mickey" Gundrum (nee Schmitt) joined her loving husband Jerry in Eternal Life on October 15, 2013, at the age of 93. She peacefully passed away in the home she lived in for the past 57 years in Slinger.

Mickey was born September 23, 1920, in the Town of Polk to the late William and Lillian (nee Heppe) Schmitt and was raised on the family farm. She graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1937, and was united in marriage to Jerome "Jerry" Gundrum on her 24th birthday on September 23, 1944. Following their marriage Mickey and Jerry lived in the Village of Slinger where she lovingly raised her family of six children.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger, the Christian Mothers, and the Zunker-Held VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Slinger, in addition to supporting her husband's many volunteer activities. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing card games (Bridge, Sheepshead, and Pinochle), and traveling with Jerry to Alaska, Hawaii, and other destinations.

Mickey is survived by her six children, Marilyn (William) Hebert of Waukesha, William (Mary Lee) Gundrum of Pewaukee, John (Suzanne) Gundrum of West Bend, Lawrence (Lois) Gundrum of Slinger, Nancy (Robert) Schultz of Slinger, and Richard Gundrum of Slinger; She was the proud grandmother of Julie (Chris) Becker, Eric (Pahla) Hebert, Kristen Hebert, Kathryn Dangerfield, Gregory (Amanda) Gundrum, Laurie (Jason) Freeman, Alexis Timeus, David Gundrum, Brad Schultz, Ryan (Jennifer) Schultz, Derrick Schultz, Wyatt Gundrum, and Este Gundrum; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Konrath of Slinger, and Annette Wiedmeyer of Manchester, MO; two sisters-in-law, Marion (John) Thoma of West Bend, and Jeanette Gundrum of Slinger; a brother-in-law, James Brodzeller of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerome; sister, Isabelle (Walter) Weber; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Giles Wiedmeyer, Robert Konrath, Lucille (Mathias) Schaefer, Reverend Anthony Gundrum, Roy Gundrum, Bernice (Robert) Scott, and Francis Brodzeller.

A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Mickey will be held on Thursday October 17th at 6:30 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, Slinger (208 E. Washington St.). Very Rev. Richard Stoffel will officiate. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery on Friday at 11:00 am.

Memorials to St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Endowment Fund, or Slinger Friends of the Park, are appreciated by the family.
