Marian Bartelt (nee Kauppila), age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
She was born on April 20, 1930 in Milwaukee to the late Hugh and Della (nee Andert) Kauppila. On February 8, 1969 Marian was united in marriage to Gerald Bartelt at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Gerald preceded her in death on September 19, 1984.
Marian was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of two children, Laurie (Larry) Crass of West Bend and Douglas (Mandy) Bartelt of Kaukauna; dearest grandmother of Kevin, Kelly and Katy Crass and she was looking forward to her fourth grandchild, Mason, in April. Marian is further survived by two brothers-in-law, Donald and James (Nancy) Bartelt both of Oshkosh; many other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and two sisters-in-law, Jane (Merle) Schroeder and Carol Bartelt.
Funeral services in remembrance of Marian will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1044 S. Silverbrook Drive, West Bend with Pastor Pamela Marolla officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
