Marian P. Haizel, (nee Roell), age 74, of West Bend, passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Oshkosh.
She was born on June 26, 1939 in West Bend to the late Milton and Ella (nee Koch) Roell. Marian graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1957 and continued her education at Dodge County Teachers College in Mayville and Oshkosh State Teachers College, earning a degree in Education. She taught elementary school in Kewaskum, West Bend, and Boltonville.
On July 18, 1964 Marian was united in marriage to Edward Haizel at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose, West Bend. Marian enjoyed bird watching, reading, gardening, working with stain glass, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Paul) Daly of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Emily, Liam, and Ella; five brothers, Eugene (Mary) Roell of West Bend, Jack Roell of Harshaw, David (Madyln) Roell of West Bend, Robert Roell of West Bend, and Donald (Darlene) Roell of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton & Ella; her husband, Edward; a sister, Margaret Shelton; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Roell, and Janet Roell.
Funeral services in remembrance of Marian will be held on Tuesday May 6th at 7:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Rev. Rich Vincent of Immanuel U.C.C. will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Memorials to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
