Marie A. Hoepner

Marie A. Hoepner, 86, of Kewaskum, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.


She was born on May 1, 1920, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Hahn) Engelhardt, and on November 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Hilary Hoepner at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Her husband preceded her in death on January 24, 1988.


Marie was the owner and operator of Marie’s Beauty Shop from 1964 until 1985. Upon their retirement, the couple moved to Arizona. Marie returned to the Kewaskum area in 2003 and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.


Survivors include four children and nine grandchildren, Dianne (William) Horn of Rutheron, New Mexico and their children, Lisa Arnold (special friend, Robert), Linda (Tim) Lindstrom and William (Claudette) Horn; Larry (Jackie) Hoepner of Tucson, Arizona and their children, Pamela McBrian and Tammy Jo Baer; Joan Schladweiler of Kewaskum and her children, Cheryl Phillips and Tim (Tammy) Schladweiler; Sandra (Richard) Amerling of the town of Wayne and their children, Yvonne (Kyle) Abrahamsen and Michael Amerling; 11 great-grandchildren, Allie Lindstrom, Elizabeth McBrian, Alexandria and Dallas Baer, Alex Phillips, Matthew and Daniel Schladweiler, Evan and Keegan Abrahamsen, Kaitlin and Kevin Amerling; a sister-in-law, Jan Engelhardt of Tucson, Arizona; special family friends, Dianne Lichtenwalner of Tucson, Arizona and Marian Roggenbauer of West Bend, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Anderson; two brothers, Roland and Ralph Engelhardt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorraine Engelhardt, Joyce Engelhardt, William (Pearl) Hoepner and Mildred (Clarence) Lenz.


A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Burial of her cremains will be in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
