Marie V. Reynolds, nee Lau, 95, of West Bend, passed away, Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born on February 19, 1913 in Redding, California to the late Percy and Blanche (nee Brownlee) Lau. She married John Rodney Reynolds on November 18, 1933 in Highland Park, Michigan and he passed away on August 24, 1954. She later married Leslie Reynolds on September 7, 1968 in Redford, Michigan and the couple moved to West Bend. Leslie passed away February 3, 1988.
After she was first married, Marie cared for newborn foster children for several years. After the death of her first husband, Marie worked as a Dental Assistant for Doctors Floyd and Bob Vernier in Detroit for 12 years.
She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, writing poems, and attending classes at UW-Washington County. She was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend, and the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by two children, John (Janice) Reynolds of Wolverine Lake, Michigan, and Joanne (Edward) Cline of Prescott, Michigan; six step-children Marlene Ciriacks of West Bend, Marolyn (Bob) Kell of West Bend, Janet (Herb) Schwarze of Durham, North Carolina, Bonnie (Ralph) Julien of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Tevis Reynolds of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, and Kay (Rev. Bob) Blackurn of Berlin; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a brother Jim (Arlene) Lau of San Luis Obispo, California; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Rodney Reynolds; her second husband, Leslie Reynolds; a son, Tom Reynolds; a sister, Margaret Beard; two grandsons, John "Chip" Reynolds and John LaBenne; a great-grandson, Jordan Schwarze; and a step-son-in-law, Sam Ciriacks.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan.
