Marilyn A. Backhaus, age 75, of the town of Kewaskum, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born on July 18, 1930 in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Koch) Buss, and in February 1954, she was united in marriage to Glenway Backhaus at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.
Marilyn was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Glenway; three children, Randy Backhaus of Kewaskum, Gary (Pam) Backhaus of Sun Prairie and Gail (Mike) Bassill of West Bend; four grandchildren, Daniel Backhaus, Erin Backhaus, Lisa Bassill and Jennifer Bassill; a brother, Arthur Buss of Kewaskum; a sister, Eva (Dormund) Grams of Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Buss of Kewaskum, other relatives and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Buss and a sister-in-law, Lillian Buss.
Marilyn’s funeral service was held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street, Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial was on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
