Marilyn J. Erlandson, (nee Hammerlund) age 94, of West Bend, WI, formerly of La Crosse, WI, passed away Sunday January 18, 2015 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
She was born on December 23, 1920 in Galva, IL to the late John and Alice (nee Johnson) Hammerlund, and was united in marriage to Philip Erlandson on December 12, 1943 in Galva, IL. Together with her husband Philip and Daughter Mary they moved to La Crosse in 1955 where Philip was the store manager for Leath Furniture until his retirement in 1982. Philip preceded her in death in September of 2007, and Marilyn moved to West Bend to be closer to her daughter.
While in La Crosse, Marilyn was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, cards, bowling, cooking, sewing, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Hunter and son in law, Norman Hunter of West Bend; two grandchildren, Paige of Spokane, WA, and Christina of Billings, MT; a niece, Carolyn Anderson of Danville, IL; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Alice; her husband, Philip; and a brother, Wayne Hammerlund.
In honoring Marilyn's wishes there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, West Bend, and private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Galva Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Asbury United Methodist Church or the St. Claire Mission.
