Marina B. Powers, 85, of Mayville, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg after a short illness and palliative care.
She was born on February 1, 1928 in Washington County to August and Theresa (Koch) Hoerth. She spent her childhood living in and around Oakfield and most of her adult life in Mayville. She was active in the Mayville Senior Center often attending events until her eyesight failed.
Marina loved flower gardening, old Western movies, listening to her record collection of crooners, bingo, traveling, and baking cookies and pies.
She is survived by three children, Terry Powers of Mayville, Sherry (Terence) Hooper of Ampthill, England and Gary (Janet Kreilein) Powers of Shorewood; four grandchildren, Sarah(David) McMillan of Shorewood, Alasdair (Kathryn) Cumming of Leeds, England, Sheonaidh (Richard) Johnston of London, England and Devin Powers of Shorewood; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Bernice and 11 other siblings.
At Marina's request, no memorial service will be held subsequent to cremation.
Marina's family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Springs and Annmarie Swanson as well as the 5 West staff at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
