Marion E. "Mickey" Petermann

Marion E. “Mickey” Petermann, 87, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.


She was born on July 24, 1924, in Florence, the daughter of the late James and Christine (Gertsen) McElhatton, and on December 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Orville “Dexter” Petermann at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Dexter preceded Marion in death on September 24, 2002.


Marion was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. She will fondly be remembered for her cooking and gardening.


Those Marion leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, John (Marilyn) Petermann of Kewaskum and Brian (Heide) Petermann of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Jason (Shelly) Petermann, Justin Petermann, Jessie (Patrick) Pollard, Megan, Laura, Holly and Derek Petermann; three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Camryn Petermann and Benjamin Pollard; two brothers, Raymond McElhatton of Fond du Lac and John (Mary Ellen) McElhatton of Kewaskum; three sisters-in-law, Irene McElhatton of Baraboo, Josephine McElhatton of Stevens Point and Rachel (Melvin) Kluever of West Bend, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, Marion was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Petermann; three brothers, James, Lawrence and Ralph McElhatton; three sisters, Margaret (Harvey) Backhaus, Gertrude (Earl) Kraft and Marie (Joseph) Stangl; three sisters-in-law, Emilie McElhatton, Lucile McElhatton and Marion Erdmann; two brothers-in-law, Oliver (Mary Ann) Petermann and Ronald (Sharon) Petermann.


Funeral services for Marion were held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating. Burial was on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Kewaskum.


Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
