Marion "Todd" D. Shafer

Marion “Todd” D. Shafer, 91, of the town of Byron, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at his home.

Todd was born on June 1, 1933, in Richland Center, WI, to the late Hubert and Susan (nee Walton) Shafer. On October 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to Anna Walley in Harvard, Illinois.  He was a dairy farmer his whole life with the last 50 years in Wisconsin until retirement. Todd loved playing bingo, going to the casino, and shooting pool at the senior center. He was a big joke teller, always having one to tell when seeing family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Todd especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his bingo family, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those Todd leaves behind to cherish his memory include his five children, Bill Shafer, Tim Shafer, Scott Shafer, Sue (Brian) Strey, and Toby Shafer; three grandchildren, Matt (Alison) Shafer, Krista Shafer, and Mitch (Amanda) Shafer; five great-grandchildren, Aidan, Aurora, Archer, with one more on the way, Griffin, and Micah; two brothers, James “Brownie” Shafer and Michael “Putz” Shafer; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by his wife Anna Shafer; his sister, Armilla “Gus” (Paul) Streit; a brother, Berdell “Ted” (Elaine) Shafer; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Shafer, Vicki Shafer, and Ruth Walley; and brother-in-law, Norris (Marge) Walley.

VISITATION: The family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, 350 Main St., Lomira on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

SERVICE: A Funeral service for Todd will be held following the visitation at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow.
