Marjorie E. Janssen, age 90, of the town of Barton, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on May 26, 1916, in the town of Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Louis and Olga (Rheingans) Foerster, and on November 7, 1936, she was united in marriage to Harvey Janssen at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. Her husband preceded her in death on April 3, 2006.
Marjorie was employed as a bookkeeper at Farmer’s Inc. in Allenton, retiring after ten years of service. She had been a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Addison since her marriage and was a long time member of St. Peter’s Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Country Cousins Homemakers Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Harold “Chesty”) Pesch of Campbellsport; a sister, Celesta (Marvin) Kuehl of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Florence Foerster of Johnson Creek, many nieces, many nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Janssen on November 9, 1963, two brothers, Roman and Louis Foerster, two sisters, Evelyn Wiesner and Ruth Mittag, and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Lester) Borchert.
Funeral services for Marjorie was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4930 Beaver Dam Road, West Bend with Rev. Paul Reede officiating. Burial followed the service in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of services.
