Marjorie D. Kenkel

Marjorie D. Kenkel, (nee Dorschel), age 83, of Slinger, formerly of Big Cedar Lake, passed away Wednesday April 11, 2007 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.

She was born on June 18, 1923 in Milwaukee to the late Hugo and Grace (nee Barnett) Dorschel. Marge graduated from St. John's Cathedral High School in the class of 1941. She then graduated from the Marquette School of Nursing in 1945. Marge started working as a nurse at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, where she worked until her retirement.

On January 30, 1958 she was united in marriage to Jerry Kenkel in Milwaukee. Together they made their home in Milwaukee and summered on Big Cedar Lake, West Bend, until moving to the lake in 1974. They were long time members of the Cedar Lake Yacht Club. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by three children, Gregory Kenkel of Park Falls, Linda (James) Hinickle of Portage, and Jay Kenkel of Slinger; a Step-son, Jeffrey (Beverly) Kenkel of West Bend; a sister, Ruth Junge of Thiensville; a sister-in-law, Rosie Kenkel of Sister Bay, other relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday April 16th at 3:00 pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, in St. Lawrence. Rev. Joseph Dominic will officiate. Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 1:00 pm until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Memorials to Children's Miracle Network are appreciated.
