Marlene O. Peters (nee Kunde) age 73, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Samaritan Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
She was born on October 28, 1939 in Oshkosh to the late Alfred and Theresa (nee Spanbauer) Kunde. Marlene graduated from Oshkosh High School in the class of 1957 and moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a secretary for Allis Chalmers. On June 24, 1967, Marlene was united in marriage to Willard Peters at Lake Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They began their family in Milwaukee and moved to West Bend in 1969.
Marlene was very involved with her children's activities and she enjoyed doing many crafts, such as: knitting, counted cross stitch, and tatting. She was always there for anyone who needed her and she loved spending time with family and friends; especially her grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Willard; two daughters, Heather Peters of Chicago, IL and Holly (Chad) Retzlaff of Sturgeon Bay, WI; two grandchildren, Haylen and Logan Retzlaff; two sisters, Joyce (James) Sullivan of Oshkosh and Vivian (Raymond) Wenrich of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Elaine (Al) Prost of Campbellsport and Audrey (Allen) Yahr of West Bend; one brother-in-law, Glenn (Myra) Peters of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Peters; son, Craig Peters; and brother, Alfred Kunde.
Funeral services in remembrance of Marlene will be held on Thursday, January 24th at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. Rev. Gerald Presuhn will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Memorials to St. John's School in West Bend or a charity of your choice are appreciated by the family.
