Marlene A. Rank, nee Satermo, 78, of West Bend, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 20, 2014 with her family by her side.
She was born on September 20, 1936 in Milwaukee to the late Russell and Helen (nee Phillips) Satermo. She graduated from Greendale High School in 1954. She married Peter Rank on November 30, 1957 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Peter passed away on November 25, 1998.
Marlene was employed at the West Bend Company for many years and she was also the friendly "sample lady" at the Pick N Save stores. She was an active member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church. She enjoyed pizza nights, cook-outs, and game nights with her family. She also enjoyed making delicious cakes for all her family and friends. She loved going on the bus to play bingo and slots. She always had a joke to tell and a smile on her face. She lit up every room she entered with her bright personality and laughter. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was a loving mother to six children, Mike (Pam) Rank of Campbellsport, Dennis (Joanne) Rank of St. Killian, Laura (Jon Clark) Rank of Campbellsport, Scott (Barb) Rank of West Bend, Jeanine Smikowski of Theresa, and Peter (Heather) Rank of Kewaskum; she cherished her eight grandchildren, Celina, Marie, Megan, Brett, Devon, Bridget, Coral, and Ayla; and adored her five great-grandchildren, Brady, Brooke, Brenna, Blake and Riley. She is also survived by her loving sisters and brothers, Gail Tatro, Russell Satermo, Wayne (Sharon) Satermo, Sandy Behm, and Marcia Schmidt; a sister-in-law, Sue Rank; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter; her parents, Russell and Helen Satermo; two brothers, Bud Phillips and Webb Satermo; a sister, Janis Link; her parents-in-law, Peter and Mary Rank; and a sister-in-law, Betty Larson.
A memorial service in remembrance of Marlene will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
