Marvin "Marv" J. Husar, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Town of Polk.
He was born in Gillett to the late Charles and Mayme (nee Sladky) Husar. Marvin served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon discharge from the Army, he attended the Kansas City School of Watch Making and founded Husar's House of Fine Diamonds in 1951. Shortly after, Marv graduated from Gemological Institute of America, American Gem Society, becoming the first Certified Gemologist in Wisconsin. On February 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mickey Brumm at St. Killian's in Hartford.
While the store, and watching it grow, was his passion, he loved his family and being able to work alongside his children. When he wasn't at the store, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. His grandchildren were his world.
Marv was a member of the Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post #486 in Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mickey; his two children, Mary (Dan) Husar Martin and Mike (Lisa) Husar; two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Husar Martin; niece, Charlotte (Gary) Addison; three granddogs; other relatives and friends.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Germaine (Hugo) Deering.
Funeral services in honor of Marv will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Husar's House of Fine Diamonds (131 N. Main Street) West Bend. Visitation will be at the store on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial in Holy Angels Cemetery will follow.

The Husar family would like to extend a very special thank you to their staff for all the love and support they have offered the family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
