Marvin E. Kempf, 84, of North Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on July 14, 1925, in Milwaukee County, the son of the late Erwin and Erna (Moldenhauer) Kempf, and on October 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Althea Schneider at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott.
Marvin served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Triangle B Post 193 American Legion. He was employed by the West Bend Company in West Bend for over 35 years and was a member of the 25-Year Club. Marvin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott, where he served as treasurer of the church and rang the church bell. He was also a member of the Beechwood Sportsman’s Club and Beechwood Athletic Club.
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memories include his wife of 60 years, Althea; five children, Dale (Wendy) Kempf and Ronald (Jacie) Kempf both of West Bend, Bruce (Lynn) Kempf of Barnum, Minnesota, Bryan (Mary) Kempf of Kewaskum, Kathryn Ann Kempf of Fond du Lac and a close family friend, Kathleen Seibel of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Andrew, Ryan, Jason, Eric, Lauren, Paul, Sondra, Gabriel (Danielle) and Travis Kempf; a great-grandchild, Meadow Merken; two brothers, Leander (Shirley) Kempf of Kewaskum and Allan Kempf (special friend, Janice) of Brothertown; two sisters, Shirley Koepke of Beechwood and Carolyn (James) Lindemann of Montello; a brother-in-law, Manvill “Bud” (Mary) Schneider, Jr. of Beechwood; two sisters-in-law, Joan Schneider of Beechwood and Delores (Jim) Waech of Cedar Grove; three aunts, Edna Kempf of West Bend, Clara Kempf of Beechwood and Irene Uhlmann of Oconomowoc; an uncle, Henry Kempf of West Bend, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Dwight; three brothers-in-law, Roland Koepke, James Wagner and Leonard Schneider; a granddaughter, Sarah Kempf and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann (nee Moegenberg) Kempf.
Funeral services for Marvin were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
