Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Harvey

October 22, 1922 — September 20, 2014

Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Harvey, nee Gough, 91, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at The Fields of Washington County in West Bend.

She was born on October 22, 1922 in Republic, PA, the third of four daughters to the late Neal and Elizabeth (nee Greenwood) Gough. She married James F. Harvey on May 6, 1945 in Republic, PA. The couple moved to West Bend, WI in March 1959. James preceded her in death on September 24, 1985.

Libby worked at Enger Kress Company for 23 years. After retirement, she became an active member of the West Bend Senior Center and served as president of the board for several years. She also became leader of the Senior Center exercise group and the Half-Century exercise group at the Kettle Moraine YMCA for more than 25 years. She also enjoyed dancing with the Senior Tap Dancing group.

She volunteered at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center and St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend for many years. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in both Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and was a Past Worthy Matron of the West Bend Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend for many years.

She is survived by a son, Dale (Jean) Harvey of Madison; three grandchildren, Amanda (Robert Hooker) Harvey, Melisa (Rich) Lampi, and Jessica (Jason) Albers; 6 great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Chloe, Kadin, Isabel, Jaxson, and Sophia; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sisters.

Services in remembrance of Libby will be held on Thursday, September 25 at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 4:00 p.m. and the memorial service to follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Following cremation burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park at a later date.
