Mary R. Schultz, 85, of New Fane, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born on October 27, 1926, in Theresa, the daughter of the late Elmer and Adela (Mueller) Giese, and on September 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Leonard Schultz at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Theresa. Leonard preceded Mary in death on November 29, 2000.
Mary was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane and Lutheran Church Women. Mary will fondly be remembered for being an avid Green Bay Packer fan, gambling on the penny machine and her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory include four sons, Leon (Karen), Lee (Kris) and Lynn Schultz all of New Fane, Rodney (Joann) Schultz of West Bend; two brothers, Ralph (Faye) and Oscar Giese both of Theresa; six sisters, Verona Hartwig of Theresa, Margaret Schultz of Sheboygan, Dorothy Krueger of Fond du Lac, Janet (Ronald) Coulter of Theresa, Shirley (Norman) Gruber of West Bend and Bonnie (Sylvester) Okon of Mayville; a sister-in-law, Marian Giese of Mayville; 11 granddaughters; a grandson; seven great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Landon Schultz; a brother, Marvin Giese and three brothers-in-law, Franklin Hartwig, Ollie Krueger and Marvin Schultz.
Funeral services for Mary were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane. Rev. Mark Eckert officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Cemetery Trust Fund or the Lutheran Hour are appreciated.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Mary’s arrangements.
