Mary Ann Gierach

June 3, 1948 — May 16, 2024

Mary Ann Gierach (nee Dragich), 75, of Trenton, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Also known as “Smiley” or “MayAnn”, she was born on June 3, 1948, in Milwaukee to the late Paul and Marion (nee Nelson) Dragich. She attended Washington Union High School and was then united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Gierach on October 31, 1970, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. They celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary in 2020 as the epitome of true love.

Together, Mary Ann and Dick raised their four children in the Town of Trenton where they still reside today. In her working life, Mary Ann was a Medical Records Technician. She retired in 2014 at age 65 and enjoyed 10 great years of retirement, where she was able to connect with old friends, enjoy time with her family, and just generally take life easy.

She leaves behind a legacy and loving family to remember her, including her caring husband of 53 years, Dick; her four children, Leah (Dave) Hanson, Sheila Gierach, Richard (Robin) Gierach, and Gina (Nick) Packard; her nine adorable grandchildren, Devon and Gunnar Hanson, Gavin, Lydia, and Clayton Gierach, Teagan, Braelyn, Emersen, and Riann Packard; brother, Jimmy (Maureen) Dragich; sister, Denise (Bob) Eineichner; step-sister, Cindy (Dennis) David; step-brother, Jack (Cheryl) Hoelz; siblings-in-law, Judy (Phil) Holland, Karen (Rick) Knight, Joseph Weyer, and James Klumb. She is further survived by a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends, including her Friday Fish Fry group, and Janie B. Group, classmates since 1966.

Greeting Mary Ann in heaven include her parents; step-father, Wilfred Hoelz; Dick’s parents, Albert and Lydia Gierach; son Scott, who passed at birth; sisters, Georgia and Virginia; brother in-law, Gary Gierach; and her nephew, Paul R. Dragich.
