Matthew Paul passed away unexpectedly in Garland, Texas at the age of 34 years. Matthew was born on November 16, 1989. He grew up in Richfield where he attended Friess Lake School and then Hartford High School. He was on the football team, swim team, DECA and also played saxophone in symphonic band, jazz band and marching band. Matthew was also involved in Boy Scouts and was very proud of achieving Eagle Scout status. He was a member of the Richfield Leo’s and became a Lion if only for a short time because he moved out of state. He went on to Whitewater University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in finance.
Right after college, Matthew moved to Madison, Alabama where he was a leasing manager. It wasn’t long after that he was recruited to move to San Antonio, Texas to work as a leasing consultant at The Can Plant. He was asked to move to Dallas, Texas where he worked as a leasing manager at the Mosaic Apartments. His true love was real estate and while working for a commercial real estate company, he got both his Texas residential and commercial real estate licenses and was on his way to becoming a very successful commercial real estate agent.
Matthew loved to travel. He surprised his family with a trip to Disney, his mom to New Orleans and New York, with friends out to California, and with his partner Josh to Mexico. One thing that Matthew always promised when he left Wisconsin was that he would always be home for Christmas, and he was. Matthew was very excited about becoming an uncle and made extra trips back to Wisconsin just for his nephew.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Laurie; his father, James (Betty); and his brothers, Justin (Katelyn) and Michael (Gracie); and nephew, Grayson. Matthew is also survived by his partner in life and love, Josh Garcia. He leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
