Maureen Joyce Flury, 66, of the town of Lomira, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 9, 1946, in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of the late Maurice and Laurena (Steinke) Hundertmark, and on February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Wayne Flury at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac.
Maureen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira and was employed at the Theresa Learning Community in Theresa before retiring.
Maureen will fondly be remembered as an excellent cook, who loved to bake and as a great cribbage player. She was very proud of their second home in the town of Lake Tomahawk, where Maureen and Wayne often enjoyed some fun competition fishing. Maureen was a loving wife, devoted mother and deeply devoted grandmother. She touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.
Those Maureen leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 49 years, Wayne; three daughters, Pamela Flury, Peggy Jo (Mark) Flury-Moe and Amanda J. Flury all of Lomira; a sister, Norma (David) Brockway of Pocatello, Idaho; five grandchildren, Steven, Samuel, Andrew, Hannah and Hope Lang; her dear friend of 52 years, Joan (Bill) Buerger of Brownsville, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her loving canine companion, Brie.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by an infant brother, Dale Jon Hundertmark.
Funeral services for Maureen were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. Rev. Kerry Wilson officiated and burial followed in Ebenezer Cemetery in the town of Lomira.
The Flury family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials in Maureen’s memory are appreciated.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Maureen’s arrangements.
