Mercedes “Marcy” Gonzalez (nee Longoria), 88 years, passed away in the love and comfort of her family on November 8, 2023, at The Waterford of West Bend.
Born on September 24, 1935, in Mexico, Marcy was the daughter of the late Michael and Luz (nee Rocha) Longoria. She attended St. Augustine School in Mexico City, Mexico.
Professionally, Marcy worked at Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in Milwaukee until her retirement in 1994. Outside of work, Marcy loved being able to immerse herself in her creative interests; whether she was reading the newest Norah Roberts book, learning new things, dancing, or cooking, she was in her element. She was also a gifted crocheter, and knitter, making pieces that would bring warmth and love to all who were lucky enough to receive them. She proudly embraced her role in being a loving mother, grandmother and Gigi.
As the “World’s Oldest Teenager”, Marcy loved music, and was a fashion plate. She was a woman of good taste, her house was always well kept and meticulously decorated, despite working and raising seven children and that’s where her truest joy lies - her family.
Those Marcy leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children, Christine Lagosh of Cudahy, Jose (Gina) Gonzalez of Hartland, Anastacio M. Gonzalez Jr. of Milwaukee, Daniel (Catherine) Gonzalez of North Carolina, Eduardo (Catherine) Gonzalez of Milwaukee, Magdalena (David) Zaborek of West Bend, and Lisa (Robert) Sherman of Texas; 12 grandchildren, Gilbert, Toni Marie, and Gina Lagosh, Anthony (Cristina) Gonzalez, Christina (Christopher) Roberts, Olivia Gonzalez, Edward (Jissella) Gonzalez, Teresa (Robert) Atchison, Katie Gonzalez, Christian Zaborek, and Alicia and Jacob Limon. She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren, and many relatives, friends, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marcy was preceded in death by her sisters, and her longtime love, Charlie Johnson.
