Merlin W. Enright

Merlin W. Enright, 95, of Random Lake, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee.


He was born on October 9, 1915, in the town of Farmington, the son of the late William and Ada (Reis) Enright. Merlin attended Boltonville Grade School and West Bend High School, and in his younger years, he was a baseball player for the Boltonville team in the Rainbow League.


On May 10, 1941, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Bohn at St. John of God Catholic Church in the town of Farmington. The Enrights farmed in the town of Farmington and later in the town of Sherman until retiring in June of 1977. Merlin was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish in Random Lake.


His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards and making wood. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.


Those Merlin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Eleanor; five children, William “Bill” Enright and Kathleen (John) Schairer both of Kewaskum, Ann (Harold) Schnorenberg of West Bend, Mary Enright of Campbellsport and Ruth (Willard) Mueller of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Mark Schairer (fiancée, Julie), Matt Schairer, Robert Schnorenberg (Alyssa Paul), Richard Schnorenberg, Christopher (Danielle) Enright, Lindsey Mueller and Daniel Mueller; a great-granddaughter, Bryn Schairer; three brothers, Kenneth (Janet) Enright of the town of Farmington, Joseph (Ann) Enright of Boltonville and Gerald (Cordell) Enright of Kewaskum; two sisters, Janet Mleczek of Milwaukee and Marie Hintz of the town of Scott; two sisters-in-law, Marion Bohn of West Bend and Eleanor Bohn of Sheboygan, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, Merlin was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Enright; a sister, Irene Knoeck, eight brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Merlin was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Parish, 230 Butler Street in Random Lake. Father Richard Cerpich officiated and cremation followed. Burial of the cremains will be in St. John of God Catholic Cemetery in the town of Farmington at a later date.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
