Merlin J. Stern, 67, of Kewaskum found eternal peace on Sunday, December 31, 2017.
He was born on December 4, 1950 to the late Roman and Betty (nee Otto) Stern in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1968. Merlin honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked very hard as a plumber until he retired. Merlin had a genuine love for the outdoors. He loved country living. Watching the sunrise every morning was by far the best part of his day. Merlin had a great appreciation for nature and wildlife, especially the quiet serenity of it. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Those Merlin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Robbie (Melissa) Stern and Lisa (Chad) Ebert; two grandchildren, Braden Ebert and Brittany Ebert; a brother, Steve (Kathy) Stern; four nephews, Scott (Amy) Stern, Doug (Kelly) Stern, Tim (Lynn) Stern, and Brad Stern; a cousin, Tom Stern; a great niece and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Julie Stern; step-father, Robert Marialke; uncles, Harvey Otto and Edward Marialke; and aunts, Shirley (Harold) Stern and Grace (Gene) Maciejewski.
A memorial service in remembrance if Merlin will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 215 Forest Ave., Kewaskum. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Memorial Park, Kewaskum
The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
