Michael J. Dettmann, age 48, of Campbellsport, passed away Tuesday November 20, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born in West Bend, on November 22, 1958 to Sylvester and Jane Dettmann. After high school Mike served for four years in the United States Army, and for the past 14 years Mike has worked as a machinist at Weasler Engineering in West Bend.
To say that Mike was an avid Packer fan would be putting it mildly. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and downhill skiing.
Mike is survived by his mother, Jane Kilby of West Bend; his father and step-mother, Sylvester and Joan Dettmann of West Bend; the special love of his life, Beatrice Ebert of Campbellsport; three sisters, Wanda (Chris) Timmons of Sugar Grove, IL, Jennifer Hoffman of Milwaukee, and Chris Uhlig of Kewaskum; two brothers, Tim (Donna) Dettmann of Yankton, S.D., and Gary Dettmann of Kewaskum; special uncle, Downer (Joy) Kilby of West Bend; three nieces, Katelyn Roberts, Alayna Dettmann, and Sarah Uhlig; a nephew, Jack Roberts; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Adeline Kilby; and his paternal grandparents, Henry Dettmann and Lorena Ramel.
Funeral services in remembrance of Mike will be held on Saturday November 24th at 1:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Rick Lawrence of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger, will officiate. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the family or the charity of your choice, in Mike's name.
