After a brief illness, Michael died peacefully surrounded by friends and family. Mike was born on December 26, 1953, and passed to eternal life on May 21, 2007 at the age of 53. Mike was the loving husband of Rita, and father of Chris (Ann) and Matt (Kati). Mike is also survived by his parents, Art and Edna; his five granddaughters, Zoe, Maggie, Ava, Lyn, and Katherine; mother-in-law Arline Ensenbach; sisters-in-law Carol (Mark) Blair and Jean (Mike) Naumann; brother-in-law Don (Opal) Ensenbach; aunt Evelyn Albert; and cousin Bill Albert; countless friends and family, and his St. Frances Cabrini Community.
Mike and his family were in the bowling business for over 40 years at Lighthouse Lanes in West Bend. For the last 15 years, he worked at St. Joseph's Parish in Wauwatosa and St. Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend as the parish administrator. An avid golfer and bowler, Mike had a 300 game and two holes-in-one. But if you asked him, his true accomplishments were his loving family and his love of God.
Mike was involved in Knights of Columbus, Franciscan Peacemakers, and the West Bend Country Club. He was a graduate of Cardinal Stritch University, serving on the alumni board for many years, and the 1994 St. Francis Seminary lay ministry program.
A Memorial Mass for Mike will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm at St. Francis Cabrini Parish, West Bend. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church only from 4:00 pm until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Synergy Health Foundation, or Franciscan Peacemakers.
Mike's family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital ICU in West Bend and Dr. Olafsson for their loving care.
We will always love you.
