Michael Paul Wimmer

Michael Paul “Mike” Wimmer, age 73 years, of Slinger was called home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2024 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on July 27, 1950 in Milwaukee to Russell and LaVerne Wimmer (Meyer).  He was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Schwichtenburg on September 4, 1971 at Christ Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Mike graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1968.  He studied chemistry, physics, and analytical geometry at UW-Milwaukee.  Mike was in sales for Advanced Chemical and Capital Equipment for 20+ years.  He was owner operator of Camera Man in Grafton and Cedarburg.  And later, he was school bus driver for Riteway in Slinger.

Mike enjoyed hunting, canoeing, kayaking, and model trains.  He was also the Commander of the Hartford Civil Air Patrol for 10 years.  Mike was co-owner of Thermal Snuffers Glider Patrol.

Those Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Sandy; two sons, Matthew (Jennifer) Wimmer and Christopher Wimmer; and two grandchildren, Kaelyn and Mikayla.  He is further survived by his sister, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ava.

VISITATION:  Mike’s family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service – 1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI  53095.

SERVICE:  A Memorial Service in remembrance of Mike will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at  the funeral home with Chaplain Jessi Smedal officiating.  Private family inurnment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Aurora Medical Centers Hartford & Grafton, Cedar Community In-Patient Rehab, Froedtert West Bend Hospital, and Kathy Hospice for their care and compassion.
