Mildred Donahue

September 25, 1933 — May 13, 2011

Mildred "Millie" R. Donahue, nee Lehn, age 77, of Kewaskum passed away at her home on May 13, 2011, with her friends at her side.

She was born in the town of Polk on September 25, 1933, the daughter of the late Peter Lehn and Frieda (nee Opper) Lehn/Kuehl. Millie attended St. Peter's School and Lakeview School in Slinger. She graduated from the Green Bay School of Adult Education and earned her degree to be Licensed in Practical Nursing. She worked 10 years at St. Michaels Hospital in Milwaukee in Pediatrics.

In 1974, Millie met George Donahue. They were united in marriage on October 5, 1974 in Aurora, Colorado. George was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Together they lived in many places, including Europe, Colorado, Utah, the state of Washington, and finally returning to Millie's hometown roots in Washington County.

In 1985, Millie graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree at Weber State University in Utah. In 1989, she went on to receive her Masters Degree in Psychology from Seattle University. While in the state of Washington, Millie was employed as a Professional Health Therapist in Edmonds and Seattle. She enjoyed this very much!

Millie and George were travelers, especially upon retirement. The two of them would cross the country exploring new places and campgrounds. Millie was just starting to piece her life together, after George's death in 2009, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 28, 2011.

She is survived by a brother, Gregory (Diane) Lehn of New Lisbon, two sisters, Shirley Jung of Random Lake and Nancy (Marlyn) Lindert of Slinger; two step-children, Susan Bustamante of Aurora, CO and Barbara Neel of Layton, UT. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends from around the world.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Frederick Lehn; sister, Bernice Lehn, who also passed from pancreatic cancer; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Jung Sr., and Gene Donahue; sister-in-law, Maxine Lehn; and two nieces, Jacqueline Lehn and Lois Ann Lehn.

A Christian service in remembrance of Millie will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend, with Rev. Richard Stoffel of St. Peter's Catholic Church presiding. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband George.

Donations to the Pancreatic Action Cancer Network are appreciated on Millie's behalf.
